August Goals

I was talking to Bryan the other day that I am such a checklist/pen and paper person. If I don’t have a checklist for my day, I get swept away with Fixer Upper reruns and the massive pile of laundry laying on our bed. (Whoops!) 

I was inspired by Jess Connolly to start posting about my monthly goals, so I sat down today to make a list of monthly, weekly and daily goals that I’ve had in my head for a while, but JUST now putting out onto paper. Hopefully , it will free up some space in my brain, haha!  

Monthly:

  • Work on my pull ups : I’ve made a lot of progress in the pull up world, but I have a long way to go. I’m determined to do one without a resistance band!

  • Florida : We have a family vacation coming up soon. I really want to enjoy every second of it and really be present with family.

  • Green House Creative : Some of you know, but I’ve been praying about starting up a branding / illustrations business. I’ve done more research in starting up an LLC and it costs a lot … so my focus this month is to start really praying if this is the Lord’s will and what I really want to do with my life.

  • Budget : Bryan and I have been on a budget for over a year now, but every now and again we go over in a few areas, or forget to log our purchases. I want to really learn to be disciplined in keeping up with our finances

  • Capsule Wardrobe : A while back I started a summer capsule wardrobe! (Blog post coming soon!) I’ve officially made it one month without buying any clothing! My goal is to continue until the end of September!

Weekly:

  • Sabbath : A recent DGroup challenge was for us to find a day and observe the Sabbath. I am the WORST at resting. My goal is to spend my Sundays, unplugged, relaxed and enjoying the Lord.

  • No Social Media on Sunday : see above!

  • Working out 5 times a week : It’s really easy to make an excuse when you go to Crossfit 3 times a week … but I am SO bad at not doing workouts on my off days. So my goal is not just to work out 5/7 times, but to plan ahead and write out workouts for myself.

  • Making a weekly Schedule : I am bad about making a loose work and life schedule, but never really sticking to it. I really want to stick to it and get some stuff done!

  • Blog more : Duh! My tendency is to WAY over think my blog posts, get nervous and compare myself to others and never post

Daily :

  • Morning Routine : I created a morning routine to help me get up and make the most out of my day!

  • Drink Water : Y’all, I don’t know how I haven’t shriveled up and died yet. I could seriously not drink water all day and be ok. I have to force myself to get my daily intake (80 oz!)

  • Wash my face : Another confession, I don’t wash my face before bed. Ah! I know that is probably the worst, so I am trying to get better at it!

  • Quality Quiet Times : Before my new morning routine, I would cram my time with the Lord right after my workouts and it always seemed rushed and busy. This month I am trying to make them the FIRST thing I do in the morning!

  • Read All the Books! : I’ve set aside 30 minutes every day to read a book! I am determined to get through books I’ve been wanting to read!

There we go! Those are my goals for August! Hopefully, this will help me be a little bit more accountable by posting it out in the public.
